Open meeting for artists in any medium.  We meet the second Sunday of the month from 2-3:30 pm at Jerry’s Artarama to exchange marketing ideas and learn from each other about marketing our art…. on-line, in galleries, at art fairs, in the neighborhood.

Topic:  Can Art Contests dramatically change your art career?

This week there will be a presentation and discussion on entering juried art contests.  Good reasons to do it and good reasons to be very choosy about the contests that you decide to enter. 

Why do you enter juried art contests?  What are realistic expectations of the value to your career?  If you don’t win an award, is it still worth doing?  Who makes the money…..the sponsors or the artists? How do you find out about art contests?  Why does an artist need a resume?  How important is a catalog to your career? 

 

Have questions?  Looking for answers?  We all are. 

If nobody sees your art, is it still art?  Sure.  But is it sellable art?
