IN-STORE DEMO (SEPTEMBER 11)

FIGURE DRAWING DEMO
Saturday, September 11
1:30pm-4pm
Free!

Please join us at the store this Saturday, Sept. 11th from 1:30 - 4pm for a special Figure Drawing demonstration lead by David Tenorio of the Cordovan Art School.

Figure drawing is one of the best "hands on" demos offered for those wishing to improve their drawing skills. Working from a live model, we will warm up with gesture drawings and then concentrate on a long pose. Let our award-winning artists help you see and understand the "rules" for drawing the human figure. The models will be clothed.

The demo is free, but we have a limited number of seats (only 15 - but overflow is welcome to stand by and watch), so make sure you register soon!

Sign up now by emailing rose@cordovanartschool.com.

Stay with this and you'll get it. And then watch it 5 times in a row, like I did. It's so wonderful!

Warhol's Fans

In 1964, the Product Marketing Manager of Campbell Soup sent artist Andy Warhol the following fan letter (along with some cases of tomato soup!).

BARRY MCGEE

While we're on a color theme, you should watch this slick little introduction to Californian artist Barry McGee, produced by the Oakland Museum of California.

I love the juxtaposition of the Thomas Hill painting and his installation, as well as getting a chance to see Mr. McGee put his work together.
