Announcing the opening reception for Jamie Canfield's painting show!
Jamie Canfield was the winner of our Reusable Bag Design Contest, but her talent doesn't stop there. Born in San Antonio, raised in Syracuse, N.Y., 20-year Austin resident and former IT Specialist Jamie Canfield was a pencil 'doodler' all her life, but two years ago changed direction and took up oil painting, with special focus on portraits. Since then she's done several commissioned portraits, including beloved pets! She is inspired by drawing and painting as a way to learn more about anything- the endless variations of the human face, the strength and movement of life, the graceful lines and complexity of constructed things- "if you really look, everything is interesting!"
Come see the beautiful paintings that are currently gracing one of our gallery walls and enjoy refreshments on the house.
